Alaska Range - Mountaineering Partner - Spring/Summer 2017

I am looking for few people to team up with for - Alaska Range Exploration.

My Basic Plan is to - setup a Base Camp in Kahiltna Glacier and do - Day climbing as much as we can to the nearby Peaks.

Need suggestions from - Whoever interested and we can lay out the final Plan.

There are plenty of Peaks in the area with Lots of Glaciers and different terrains to get true mountaineering experience.

That would be a fun trip. You could do Infinite Spur on Foraker, Moonflower Buttress on Hunter or many other routes as those are now day trips thanks to Colin Haley and partners.

Another idea, although you would probably want to go earlier (e.g. April-early May), would be a Ruth Gorge trip. Just as accessible, similar flight cost, and at least as many, if not more day climbable peaks. Moose's Tooth (Ham and Eggs Couloir, Shaken not Stirred), Mt. Barille (Japanese Couloir, Cobra Pillar), Mt Dickey (West Ridge), Mt. Dan Beard (West Face), Werewolf Tower (Freezy Nuts), Pk 11,300 (SW Face). Many others too.

Thanks excitable boy..yup I read about Ruth gorge as well.
I will dig deep into it..but really few guys for the trip. Alaska range is something needs to have a team to explore.

I agree, you want to go with a group of folks with whom you have a good camaraderie and have climbed big stuff in the lower 48/Canada prior to your trip. I swore off AK, selling off all my cold weather/high altitude gear otherwise I would be tempted. Good luck.
