Spent the weekend in the Lewis Fork Wilderness (Mt Rogers)

Took my 13 yo on his first "real" winter trip in the Lewis Fork WIlderness, below Mt Rogers summit Our little group planned to snowshoe/ski to Pine Mt but only got 2/3 way in all the snow. Made camp on the Lewis Fork/Lewis Fork Connector intersection in 2' snow.. There was close to 3' below the summit. Madison, my 13 has never snowshoed. Ben, who is 12 and a novice skier, managed to XC ski the whole way; each with a backpack to the campsite and thence to the summit.

Trip almost never happened; from torrential rains between home and Winston Salem, ice and wrecked cars from there to I-77 and sleet/snow that took me over an hour to drive the 40 miles from Fancy Gap to Wytheville. The worst drive I ever made. But the trip made it all worthwhile!

I'm sorry, Bob !

My most sincerest of apologies goes out to .... well, not YOU but your wife.

Reckon I'm going to shut up now, and enjoy the awesome "snow pictures" here on SP.
