great info, except for the part where you call Andrew pickens "one of the areas resident mass murderers of the Cherokee" this is no more than a liberal attempt to rewrite history.
Andrew Pickens fought the Cherokee in two campaigns one was the anglo-cherokee war(1758-1761), a conflict started by the Cherokee, when Cherokee leader Moytoy of Citico stoled horses and led scalping raids in north Carolina after he felt he had been wronged by the British.
the second time was towards the end of the revolutionary war. remember that one? its when we won our independence from England. guess who the Cherokee nation sided with? that's right, the british!
although i'm sure he was not perfect, he was, in fact, a great patriot. certainly people throughout history felt he was considering not only pickens nose was named after him but pickens countys in south Carolina, Alabama, and Georgia, fort pickens in florida and the city of pickens SC.
please refrain from disrespecting this great American patriot.
great response bob. I love how you skipped any attempt to back up your opinion with facts and went straight into insults. proof that you don't know what your talking about.
