| Hiked from Boca da Corida to Pico Grande, then stepped over to Pico do Cerco. The gorse is gone (after the 2003 summer wildfires) and the hike was utterly enjoyable. Good views but very stormy on top. | |

| Together with Florence 2hs from Boca da Curida. Nice trek with fun easy scrumbling summit. Beautiful views from there to the Pico Ruivo range. | |

| I started in Fontes and walked to Pico da Cruz (1.311m), Chão dos Terreiros (1.436m), Pico (no name, 1.410m), via Boca da Corrida to Pico do Grande (1.654m). Also climbed the other summit Pico do Cerco (1.617m) and Pico da Malhada (1.236m) on the way back. finally returned to Fontes walking all the way around Chão dos Terreiros. Good walk, took about 7 hours. This is actually a combination of route 5 and route 36 from the Rother Wanderführer Madeira. | |

| Perfect day with very nice views of the central range. Had to fight the gorse bushes though. Some five days later we met a group from the mountaineer club of Serra de Agua who cleared the trai with machetes. GREAT views from the summit! | |
