Thanks Bob. I was very surprised to find there was no post on it. I plan to add some info about climbing. Currently, climbing is prohibited in the state park. However, I have brought my climbing shoes before and done a little bouldering. I have heard from a rock climbing forum the park has discussed opening certain areas for climbing in the past. I have hiked 95% of the trail and everything that could be climbed could be top-roped or done in 1 pitch easily.

Good information
Great information gabem. It is definitely surprising to find such a "rugged" trail all the way down in central Georgia. If anyone wants to explore the trail ultrarunning style, there is a 40 mile trail race there each fall -- http://www.getguts.com/e-pm40.html.
