Plant Bagging

Plant Bagging

Page Type Page Type: Album

Overview

I spend the majority of my life outdoors working with plants. Sometimes I am paid to travel all over the state of California to locate and collect native plants. When I'm not working I usually go hiking or biking and come across once again more plants. So this a private album for my plant oriented travels.

Interesting album!

Sounds like you have a neat job! I like this album, because as a horticulturist and native plant enthusiast, I'm always on the lookout for unusual plants--especially ones that are variegated. I too have found albino redwood. The most interesting variegated native plant I've come across is variegated Trillium ovatum.

Re: Interesting album!

Thanks for stopping by! I have never seen a variegated Trillium ovatum, that would be a very cool plant to see. All my plant friends think I'm crazy for loving and collecting varigated plants, their just so unique.

Mmm. Trillium

I lived off of trillium and ants for a week in Washington. I heard somewhere that picking trillium ovatum was illegal, but I had to eat something. Good stuff. I only wish I knew what variegated meant. I'm not a smart man.

and great pictures too!
It may be helpful to date the pictures so one know what time of year to seek these out.
