A World Away from the Beaten Path Date Climbed: Jul 14, 2008
For something that's not that far from a road mileage-wise, it feels very remote. Chalk it up to the off-trail portion that climbs over 3000' in little more than a mile. Want solitude and views? You get them up here.
The bushwhacking heading up wasn't too bad or too long, but the way down, which was from Mill Point West (very scenic and interesting traverse between the summits), was a different story, especially as we got closer to the trail. Still, there aren't many other places where you can get this much sense of isolation without packing miles into the wilderness.
16jul10 - Took a person from New York state on the Printz Ridge Triple - Hauf Peak, Mill Point West, and Mill Point. We ascended Hauf Peak first, followed the ridge east over Mill Point West to Mill Point before descending. It was a long hard day, but we both survived.
14jul08 - Climbed this summit for the first time with Bob Sihler. We ascended using the Hauf Saddle Chute, proceeded to Mill Point West using the Connecting Ridge, then descended using the South Face Chute.
