Polygala...

Polygala...

Polygala vulgaris (?) growing on serpentinite rocks in the past quarry near Jordanow, several kilometers toward E from the main massif of Sleza. The Jordanow quarry is well know from the ancient time because here a very hard rock, nephrite, has been excavated. Through the long time this locality was the only one of nephrite in all the Europe. The nephrite was used for preparation of stone tools. May 2, 2008.
