A pond on top of Catoctin Mountain in the fall colors. I hiked the Catoctin Trail, a 27 mile trail that starts just outside of Frederick and continues along the crest of Catoctin Mountain to the north. It took two days to hike this trail and this was near the end of day one on a glorious October day.

Hasn't voted | Honestly, this trip was more about being out in the woods and reflecting on my life, than about adventure. I typically write about the more adventurous trips. I don't think I would have a lot to write from this one. But thanks for the compliments and the passion you have for Maryland's mountains.
