"After the first glass, you see things as you wish they were. After the second, you see things as they are not. Finally, you see things as they really are, which is the most horrible thing in the world."

Poseidon AdventureWith Jackie from Oz and Huck from Roswell. Great times with "good mates". The first pitch is a cruise. The 2nd pitch can be a bit of a slug fest. It is a flaring chimney and you can try whatever method you want, but what I led it with was slow and tedious chimney technique. Avoid those white crystal features, way too slippery. I used a 6", 2-5", 2-4" before I could sink my 3" and 2" and start hand jamming at the end. A strenuous pitch to say the least. Would liked to have had one more 4" which would avoid having to walk a piece. The 3rd and 4th pitches were tame. I have done the summit pitch before (Lonely Vigil) and chose to make that "once in a lifetime is enough" experience. Did everything but the last move to show my mates the way, then belayed them from the upper station.
