Venue: The Pulpit (Kazalnica) opposite Niżne Rysy (the summit of Rysy just outside the top right-hand corner of this pic) Time: 2nd week of October, last decade of 2nd millennium AD Number of people present from morning to dusk (on this trail, which climbs up from Black Tarn): 1 Number of people climbing Rysy, seen across the cirque that day: 1 Tracks in the (probably late September) snow: None All this does make a difference compared to mid-summer.

Yep, after the summer crowds are gone. Unfortunately, not nearly as remote as Utah's wilderness.
