Route Climbed: South Face East Ridge Date Climbed: March 2005
I climbed this mountain with Daniel Mazur in March 2005. Unfortunately I did not summit due to the same bad weather that went on to reek havoc on Everest immediately afterwards. I am going back in March 2006 to have another crack.
(Update) I climbed Pumori again in March 2006, but again did not summit due to an accident involving our Sherpas just 200m from the summit which meant we aborted our summit push to carry out an ultimately successful high altitude rescue. I know this mountain pretty well now so if you want any information/advice about climbing Pumori send me an email.
Route Climbed: South Face - East Ridge Date Climbed: 24th March 2004
I climbed this peak during March of 2004 as part of an International expedition led by Dan Mazur. Weather was excellent, we were the only expedition on the mountain. Conditions were unusual because of a dry winter, lots of rock-fall and hard ice.
Route Climbed: SOUTH FACE Date Climbed: 19 MAY 2003
THIS IS THE PORTUGUESE PUMORI EXPEDITION.
WE ARE 8 MEMBERS, 6 SUMMITED IN 19TH MAY 2003. THANK YOU FOR THE ROPES ON THE ROUTE. I HAD A HEAR INFECTION 4 DAYS BEFORE WE ATTEMPETED THE SUMMIT, SO I COULD NOT REACHED, BUT IT WAS A GOOD EXPEDITION ANYWAY IN A FABOLOUS MOUNTAIN.
Route Climbed: South Face - East Ridge Date Climbed: April 08, 2003
I climbed this stunning peak in the vicinity of Mt. Everest & Co. as a member of the International Pumori Expedition 2003 led by Dan Mazur from Himalayan Expeditions (www.SummitClimb.com). We were the first and only expedition on the mountain at that time of the year.
The route was more difficult than expected. All in all we placed appr. 1.600 m of fixed lines up to camp 2. The summit section was climbed in roped teams.
