Re: Excellent photos...

Hi thanks for the comment. I agree the page is thin on route info. There are a couple of SP members who have climbed it but have not added their route info. While I have been there 3 times I have not climbed it so am not qualifed to put in this info. I do not believ it to be too technical but have not done it so can't be sure. The nature of this site is that pages grow though the members. Hopfully someone will add this infor in the near future. If i am lucky it will be me in the next couple of years. But no plans as of now. If you have any information please post and I will add and give you credit. Cheers William

Re: Excellent photos...

Hi. Perhaps I will give it up for adoption. For your information I have never held onto a peak that anyone who has better experience on has asked for. I have babysat neglected pages till suitable owners came along. This page was added at the very beginning of SP when there was a flurry of additions. In the beginning SP was to built by all its members. A cooperative gathering of information. That is the spirit in which I entered the site. If you know of any indiviual who has climbed this peak and would like this page please let them know and I will pass it over if they are willing to stick with the site and page and make it better. Not sure why this particular page is being singled out by you. Especially since you say you are not interested in Nepal. It being too popular. I am somewhat puzzled by this attention. Are you contacting every member who maintains a page they have not climbed? If so you will be very busy. In all good faith should you feel strongly about this contact the elves. If they want me to put up all the pages I have built for adoption that I am not qualified to maintain I will do so. Regards William

Re: Excellent photos...

I'll see if I can find some basic info on the mountain next time I'm the mountaineering library. Lee

Re: Excellent photos...

Hi. Any information would be welcome. Information on the routes is scarce. There was a brief discription of the climb in Joe Simpson's "This Game of Ghosts" but that book was more about other mishaps in Joe's climbing career. He injured himself once again on Pumori I believe, but not as much of an epic as in South America.

I will be interested to see what you find. Guiding companies offer trips but are tightlipped on the actual routes. Myself I am reluctant on adding any route that I have not done. But there must be some history to this beautiful peak. Cheers William

Stunning

page you have constructed here! You have some really good links. Pictures are fabulous. It's apparent you put in a good deal of time on this. Without doubt, one of the better SP pages.
Thanks for posting this- I've been looking at Dan Mazures link.

Some update needed

Hi William!

Nice page on a very nice mountain!

But some update is needed on all your Nepal mountains regarding the political situation (no update since 2003), which has evolved a lot over the past few years, in particular since the 2006 peace agreement and the 2008 elections which led to a return to the democracy and abolition of the monarchy. Nepal is again a rather safe place to travel to.

About Pumori, you may mention the possible approach from Tibet, as Pumori is a border peak. The North ridge was first climbed in 2002 by a Swiss team led by Erhard Loretan, fore more reference click here and here.

Cheers,
Bruno

Routes

Is it possible to add a route to this? ....

It could be nice to read about routes. I am afraid that I cannot help you with this. Further, a nice base-page!

Re: Routes

Sorry I have no first hand information on routes. Also none of the books I have describe routes in enough detail. If someone come along and has good information on a route they have done. I will welcome for sure and add. Thanks for your comments.

Maybe he can provide us with some info. As soon as he comes back I will ask him.
