Grand flowers

Looks like you had a beautiful Grand Canyon hike. Seeing the American Southwest in bloom is amazing. Did you hike from rim to rim? I hiked down the South Kaibab, camped at Phantom Ranch for two nights, hiked Clear Creek, and up the Bright Angel years ago. Hiking from rim-to-rim and back again is still on my agenda.

Re: Grand flowers

I went rim-to-rim-to-rim and then repeated it about two weeks later. I was very lucky with the flowers on the first hike. I have posted a Trip Report on the hikes. If you do R2R2R, you might want to look at the itinerary I used as it worked out very well.

Re: Grand flowers

Great report. Twice in the same season, that's quite a feat! I hiked the GC during the middle of November. The north rim was closed by then. Snow covered the south rim as well. Did you enjoy the 'hikers' stew' or have breakfast at Phantom Ranch?
