Long time ago
I barely remember this one, but I hiked it with some other folks during my three winter months in Kodiak. I remember thin snow over rock and grass and good views.

Winter ascent of the SE Ridge of Pyramid Mountain
Made a solo winter ascent of the SE Ridge of Pyramid Mountain last February, in Kodiak, AK. Beautiful day with no clouds, but it was very cold, with 35-45 mph winds. It was about -20 F on the summit with wind chill and gusting up to 50+ mph. The snow was mostly styrofoam, with sections of hard ice. Cold, but perfect day in complete solitude. There is a lot of low elevation, but fun climbing and skiing to be done in this region, with an almost non-existent usage by climbers/skiers. A complete East to West traverse of the range is waiting for the adventurous.....
