Rappel anchors on Sugarloaf

Rappel anchors on Sugarloaf

This funny looking conglomeration of chains, slings and bolts is the rappel anchors that takes you to the NE saddle. We cut off a few of the old weathered slings and added a new one for our descent. Photo by Tom Lepinski

Season and Route Selections

The fall and spring are the best times for climbing in this area. Winters work pretty well also, but the shorter days make it a bit more difficult with some of the long approaches. As far as routes go, the standard route was quite fun and is the only one I have experience on. I've also heard good things about the right and left eyebrow routes. There are long unprotected stretches on both of those routes, but supposedly the climbing is fairly moderate.
