Red Castle-12700

Red Castle-12700

The main Red Castle summit (12700') not looking so red from the northeast at 1pm. This picture makes it look like 12700 has a wide flat base on the right, but it is very misleading. There is a very sharp drop between the shadowed face and the sunlit foreground on the right. From the upper slopes of 12338. September-7-2010

12,700, still scouring a line...

on this photo and the other you've posted from the other angle. It's on the list... that and making sure my life insurance policy is still valid, lol. Looks like a good amount of choss up there. Seems like going up it is possible, the descent without pro and going solo on the other hand... whew.

The part that scares me the most is the possibility of spontaneous rockfall.
