Red Hills

Red Hills
Not many visitors to Grand Teton National Park bother driving out on the Gros Ventre Road past the park boundary to view the Slide Lake, the Red Hills, and the Mount Leidy Highlands. It is difficult to believe such a spectacular area so near a popular national park could be so empty most of the time.

I can't believe that I've never noticed this area. I think it is because my eyes always look at the Tetons since they are so dramatic. Thanks for highlighting this area.

My first trip to GTNP was in 97. I didn't "discover" the Red Hills and environs until 4 trips later in 2001! It's another world back there, and very enjoyable.
