Relaxing after the marathon

Relaxing after the marathon
After running the Crater Lake Marathon in the morning, I changed clothes and hiked up Mt Scott to eat some lunch. I just couldn't resist seeing the park (and much of the marathon course, including the highpoint of the course at Cloud Cap) from the highest peak in the park.

BTW, the marathon was great. I finished 6th overall in 3:27:02. We had perfect weather (cloudless skies; 40 and breezy at the start; 60s and sunny at the finish). If you're a runner, I highly recommend running either the 6.7-mile, 13-mile, or full marathon races here at Crater Lake on the second Saturday of August. Tough courses, but what a great place to run. The park service actually closes the Rim Drive to the runners so you have the road to yourself. All the miles (except the last 7 of the marathon which ends at Lost Creek) are on Rim Drive. There are few marathons with a more scenic course. It was stunningly beautiful.
