I was amazed how large these things are. I was expecting something about the size of a parakeet but these are full-blown parrot size. This guy was well over a foot tall, maybe 18 inches. Bold too, he walked over to another guy and pulled at this shoelace. I had to shoo him away from my pack, that beak is lethal. Was really cool when he took off, the bright orange underwing was quite something. This guy whirled over me several times on the hike up with his distinctinve "Kyaaaah! Kyaaaah!"
