ridge crux

I think this is the way we got past the more difficult section near the low point in the ridge. The slope was a little gentler, and the snow was a little better as we dropped down a bit. The nwhikers.com TR I reference for the TOPO! map page had similar problems in 2008, and they decided not to go back the same way. Our decision to drop down from Howard to Crescent Lake instead of retracing our ascent was partially influenced by this one portion of the ridge. May 30, 2009
