Ridge to Cub

This was another confusing route going to Cub Lake. SP says not to be-line for Cub Lake or you'll cliff out...true, but where? We were following high ridge around south side of Istwoot Lake and ran into boot tracks in snow, no trail visable, which was a real time saver, kind of down throught the cliff bands without being too high, between lakes, into the basin and around Cub Lake, back over Ridge into Bachelor Creek Drainage. Seemed like route finding never ended. We came down from low point in ridge behind Nick, route to Dome heads off to right of Ridge and down across snow fields in photo. 8/4/11
