dkhisn't this the west face of steel cliffs? i think most guys agree that THE route is actually the gully to the right (south) of the hogsback.

Re: dkhStrictly speaking I think you are correct. At the time I thought that whole area was considered Devil's Kitchen and Steel Cliffs were more to the right.

dkhI've talked to some more guys, since getting interested in this route, and it looks like basically all the couloirs, all 3-4 of them, from just right of the Hogsback to the one you indicate above, are all variations of DKH, and even numbered from 1-X, depending on who you talk to.

Sum BetaI just got my copy of Oregon High, and it lists this route as "East Crater Wall" route, the next left being "Flying Buttress," and with the two couloirs between it and Pearly Gates being two variations of DKH.
For what that's worth.
