Rimpfischwänge, Slab II+

Rimpfischwänge, Slab II+

Ridge edge II+ below foresummit of Rimpfischhorn. After climbing icy snow slope (up to 50º) reach solid normally dry rock, slab (II+), to gain the foresummit. Exposed! Other variant is to climb left 10m chimney, rather unpleasent and icy, not on the photo. Rimpfischwänge Route Topo here

The chimney...

...is good idea while descending, especially when you have 60 meters rope- 30 meters long rappel is sufficient to reach to lower abseiling point. This allows you to rap down all the snow-icy slope (mentioned in the description of the picture) which might be unpleasant in bad snow conditions.

Anyway, great shot Radek (Przeciez wiem...)
