Roaring River - Log Crossing

Roaring River - Log Crossing

Due to the storms/flood last year there is no longer a bridge over the Roaring River. This log crossing is now in place and is less than 25 feet from where the trail meets the river. This pic was was taken from the trailhead side of the river. This pic was also taken at the end of our day, after raining all day...and the water level was much higher than when we crossed in the morning. It was pretty much impossible to get across the logs without getting our feet wet on our return, but we crossed with dry feet in the morning. If you call the RMNP ranger station they will probably tell you that the river crossing in impassible. Roaring River, Ypsilon Lake Trail RMNP - July 30, 2014
