Rock Columbines

Rock Columbines

You will see these Rock Columbines (Aquilegia scopulorum) in the upper sections of the South Loop trail above treeline. They come in a variety of colors ( white, pink, yellow and purple), but the purple ones are the most common. I took this photo in July 2007 along the South Loop trail on the way back from Charleston Peak. Spring Mountains, Nevada.

Beautiful

I love your photo of Aquilegia scopulorum.I grow it myself in England, mainly from Utah collections.I am studying Aquilegia species and am particularly interested in the variable forms from Charleston Peak.
Best wishes,
