Rockjock Trail

A very common trail scene on the Rockjock Trail, and Linville Gorge as a whole. Being a wilderness area, more times than not, downed trees are not cleared from the trail. Trail advocates that adopt trails in the big ditch do end up doing some clearing. Fortunately this one was lying at the edge of the trail. Unfortunately the tree took up over half of the trail, making it a brief but difficult few steps. Linville Gorge Wilderness June 3, 2011
