What makes Unconquorable 5.8 - 5.11?I thought it was simply 5.8. I guess the crux is that weird hand-over-the-shoulder thing where a head jam seems appropriate about 1/2 way up! However, this climb definitely seems harder that it's 5.8 neighbor, Test Piece. Curious what others thought.

Re: What makes Unconquorable 5.8 - 5.11?Some of the route ratings there seem sandbagged.

Re: What makes Unconquorable 5.8 - 5.11?I think the ratings are a little screwy at Consumnes.Also, I think there is a 5.10 and a 5.11 variation to this climb, which is why it's " 5.8 - 5.11 ".

Re: What makes Unconquorable 5.8 - 5.11?Ah yes - ...there is a 5.10 and a 5.11 variation to this climb... -- that must be why I always fall on this route! I'm doing the 5.11 variation ha ha ha!

Natural RockIt is 5.8 up until the notch, after that it is 5.11 that part is difficult. Its natural rock, it’s not climbing in a gym where you are in a controlled environment. The natural rock routes aren’t consistent as far as ratings.
