Equally named as Rödelstein, the Rothenfels is a very isolated rocky formation, which is almost unknown and unfrequented by the hikers and the climbers ! This three parts rock is very interesting to visit, with several remarkable points to discover : scrambling routes, erosion structures, a deep crack between two walls, very wild flora, panorama on Annweiler, ... So please, don't forget this site of Rothenfels, if you are going yourself in this country : by Wernersberg is the Rothenfels a very passionnating object of hiking and scrambling activities ! Keep the site totally clean, as you find it when you had penetrate the rock !
