| Climbed with Hakan (Sierrawolf) to the true summit. Approached the west ridge in snowshoes. We looked for an East Ridge descent route but the terrain looks complicated and filled with loose rock. Weather was warm but hazy in the Lake Tahoe direction. We climbed Elephants Back on the descent from west ridge. Last time in 1999: With Shubo (Steve) Dai. We climbed the west summit, which is a couple of feet lower than the true summit on the east. Grand View on top, including Lake Tahoe which looked like an impossibly high body of water defying laws of physics. I climbed some steep, loose scree for the first time. | |

| What a fun mountain. Good fishing in the lakes. Fun playing in the snow. I have even seen Mount Diablo near Walnut Creek, CA from here. Fianlly climbed the Crescent Moon Coulior. The top got the heart racing a bit but what fun. To think about 7 years ago I saw some guys headed up it and I thought they were nuts. Time and experience change one's attitude.  | |
