Overview
The north face of the Hinterer Spiegelkogel is one of the few ice faces in the range that is still covered with ice.
Although unfortunatly this won't be for a very long time I think.
The face is about 250 meters high and has a maximum steepness of 45-55°(depending on wich line you take). Because of the short approach and the steepness, the face is perfect for ice beginners. It is perfect for training your ice climbing skills on a relative safe face.
Always ask for the conditions of the face in Obergurgl or at the Ramol hut!

To the face:
From the Ramol hut take the way up towards the Ramol pass. From the pass descent on the Spiegel glacier. On the glacier you have to decide wich line you will take to the summit.
Route Description
Depending on the conditions you can climb straight up the base of the face all the way to the summit in one line.
Most of the time the left side of the face is dangerous, because of rockfall. The right side of the face contains a few crevasses you need to pay attention to. So try to take the middle of the face.
