In 1978, Vern bought a CJ7, I bought a CJ5. We dubbed them “The San Juan Rat Patrol” and together we scoured Colorado’s many jeep trails. After the initial “fourwheeling craze,” we would realize the true value of our jeeps. They were used to get us to remote trailheads, rather than enjoying them for the actual sport of fourwheeling. Vern would soon make a detour, the first of three, in our journey. He would relocate to Lander, Wyoming to study photography, another passion we both shared. His jeep wouldn't last as long as mine did.

Is there any chance you knew a Jon Carrington? He talked alot about the Rat Patrol from about the same area and time period. Probably just coincidence, but I have to ask.

	Hasn't voted	Jon might have known us or knew of us. We got around quite a bit back then. We met many people along the way, so I'm afraid I do not remember him, if I've met him.
