Thanks!

I've only been up there the once, part of an two-day hike into Middle Prong Wilderness. Stunning country!

Water Source

Are there any water sources at Sam Knob and if so, any tips on locating the water source?

Re: Water Source

Water is definitely NOT a problem near Sam Knob. There is a major stream there--Flat Laurel Creek. And it's not a small one, either, but a big, bold creek full of water. Because the area is so popular with campers, I would definitely filter, boil, or chemically treat the water.People have been crapping in the bushes there for decades and it just gets more popular every year.

There's no water on the peak itself--well, a few seeps maybe. But you can get all the water you want below the summit at Flat Laurel Creek and some springs feeding into it.
