| mgeo | snow at the top ![]() Date Climbed: Mar 3, 2007 | |
| My wife and I (with our dog - badger) hit Mt. Lowe, San Gabriel Peak and Mt. Dissappointment today. Great hike from Eaton Saddle. The upper slopes were snow covered still, but you could hike with a light jacket. There were a couple of sketchy sections along the trail were the snow was really compacted and icy. Trekking poles helped. Great views...Baldy was all snowy. | ||

| Smith93 | Cloudy, cold and wet ![]() Date Climbed: Jan 27, 2007 | |
| Hiked to the top after we did Mt. Markham and it was cloudy, cold and it was trying to rain. Fun hike though and it was nice to get out there and do some peaks I've never done before. | ||

| Travis_ | San Gabriel with my Daughter ![]() Date Climbed: Dec 3, 2006 | |
| Hit Disapointment and San Gabriel today, with my daugter on my back. We both signned the log in zip lock bags (won't survive the winter well). The best view I had ever seen, you could see the ocean clearly, Catalina and the other islands as well. Amazing. My 25th HPS Peak. | ||

| Matthew Holliman | Nice hike/jog ![]() Date Climbed: Mar 26, 2005 | |
| Good views from the summit, although I could hardly name a single peak of the dozens from the HPS List that are no doubt visible. Pleasant jog down the trail before heading off to do the Iron-Roundtop-Granite-Rabbit loop in the evening. | ||

| johnm | Route Climbed: Trailhead from Markham Saddle ![]() Date Climbed: Nov 4, 2006 | |
| After summiting Markham and Lowe I doubled back and nailed San Gabriel Peak and Mount Disappointment. I arrived at the summit the same time as a Korean Hiking Club. Have seen them many times and many places in the San Gabriels. Views south were hazy but views north of the Midrange Mountains were good. | ||

| Did a bunch of HPS peaks that day. Lowe, Deception, Dissapointment, Markham, Occidental, etc. Fun day to knock off a few on the list. It's quite prominent on the horizon from Griffith Park and LA. | ||

| Bob Burd | HPS Roundup ![]() Date Climbed: Mar 25, 2002 | |
| How many HPS peaks can one climb in a day? Apparently quite a few. This area is loaded with 'em, probably due to the proximity to the homes of the HPS founders in the 1950s. Trip Report | ||

| Can't remember when, but hiked this one in stormy weather. I think I went up the trail that starts at the Disappointment Peak Road, a little ways up from Red Box RS. | ||

| I've hiked and run the two main trails leading to the summit numerous times. These two trails are good running trails; well maintained and not too steep. | ||
