Just thought I'd share a tidbit I came across while researching a page of my own in some old annuals.
In the Northern San Juan's, Molas Pass was named by the early Spanish Missionaries (1700's) who while traversing the pass, witnessed "many moles & voles" on the ground near present-day, Molas Lake. Molas is old Spanish for mole.
