Since 1999 this World Cultural Heritage has been part of UNESCO Villages with Fortified Churches in Transylvania.
Biserica fortificată din Saschiz (RO) is one of the best examples of medieval defensive architecture adapted to a sacred site.
Charles III of the British Royal Family has made it the object of both frequent visits and consistent efforts to restore and preserve it.
