Saturday, July 12, 2003. This is a low-res shot of my girl as she is entering the lower dip of the Evans-Spalding saddle on the Summit Ridge Route coming off of Mount Spalding’s summit. From Summit Lake, the ridge line looks “toothy” and Class 3 but this photo reveals a different story. As you gain more of the ridge and circle your way towards Evans, you lose the flat terrain at the saddle middle and gain more unforgiving Class 2 terrain that is boulder-laden!!!
