Saturday, July 12, 2003. This is a low-res photo of what I thought was one of the more exposed sections of the Summit Ridge Route on the way to Evans from the Evans-Spalding saddle. Actually, it is best to stay off the top of the ridge and traverse below it or to the right (referenced to the photo). It is marked with red stringers all the way around the half-circle ridge. I actually was traversing the ridge top when I saw climbers below me pass me up. That’s when my girlfriend and I descended a little to gain the climbers path around the ridge line. Much smoother going!

Cool Ridge pix

I guess Mt. Evans may be a drive up mountain but the ridge is sure not a drive by.

I agree...the ridge is definitely worth doing. Its a great Class 2 with excellent views! I should have posted some high-res digital shots but I got lazy!
