Sawtooth Peak

Sawtooth Peak

Sawtooth Peak, Mineral King, Sequoia National Park Fully embroidered GSP location of summit, backpack patch. Sawtooth Peak (12,343 feet) is the most prominent peak in the Mineral King area. Upper portions of the peak are granite and shaped by glaciers. From a distance, the white granite makes Sawtooth look like it is covered with snow. There is a trail all the way to the top, but it is a steep climb from the Mineral King Valley floor (7,400 ft) to the summit. The trail can be a scramble as much of the granite is ‘decomposed’ and at times it can be like walking up a sand dune. http://patchpeak.com/sawtoothpeak.html
