Overview
Serra do Brigadeiro has 20 km of distance North to the South and about 10 km of East to West. This is a inexplorate group of mountains and the government is doing the structure to guest the mountaineers. The State Park was created in June 27, 1996 by the designation Nº 38.319, situated in the Forest Zone of Minas Gerais State, including 8 towns. With 13.210 hectares, Serra do Brigadeiro Park is one of the most important natural researches of Minas Gerais State, engaging North Mantiqueira, between Carangola Valley, Gloria Valley and Doce River.

Getting There
How to get there? The best and the easiest access to Brigadeiro is from BR-116, turning to Muriaé town, Brigadeiro's base. Another cities are : Araponga, Fervedouro, Miradouro, Ervalia, Sericita, Pedra Bonita and Divino. From Rio, Muriaé is far 300 km. Buses Lines:
Rio x Muriaé : 1001 transportes e turismo ltd. and Rio Doce.
Red Tape
No fees to camp at this mountains, just cautious.
When To Climb
The best season to climb Brigadeiro Mountains is at the winter ( June to September ) . The mist that to be formed at the highlands, produces a different vegetation covering the high mountains, how orchids, samambaias, liquens, bromélias and cactus.
Camping
Dico and Vale da Luas Camping is the most famous camp area near Brigadeiro. Some farms permits that the mountaineers encamping in your properties, with payment in advance.

Untitled CommentThe State Park of the Mountain range of the Brigadier General is in the Zone of Mata, in the southwest of Minas Gerais, the 330 km of Belo Horizonte. It occupies an area of 32,5 a thousand hectares, divided between seven cities: Fervedouro, Open-Field, Araponga, Matipó, Ervália, Miradouro and Muriaé. It has an only road that it cuts to the park, binding the cities of Araponga and Fervedouro, to the edges of the highway River-Bahia, with stretches in precarious state of conservation.
