| Nice trail that starts out steep. Summit is nothing to write home about but it is a good resting place after the 4+ mile hike in and the 2,700 foot elevation gain. | |

| CMC hike for C level Classification. It was pretty hot and sunny on the way up, but some thin clouds rolled in and cooled things off a bit on the way down. There was some haze in the air, possibly due to a wildfire burning in Coal Creek Canyon the day before. This was my second time up Sheep Mountain. | |

| I rate this in the same class as Green Mountain in Boulder. It is a good training hike if carrying lots of weight, even though the 2,700-some-odd feet of gain is spread over nearly 5 miles. | |
