Approach


Start point is Lähn-Wengle.

Lähn is a station of the Ausserfern railway Garmisch-Reutte.
By car, Lähn can be reached from Lermoos in direction Reutte.

Route Description


Take the path number 692 and climb high to the grassy crest between Hochschrutte and Upspitze. The ridge is reached NW from Herbertaljoch (2047 m) in 2 hours.
Follow the rocky ridge or conturn on the S face in direction Upspitze.
After this easy but airy scramble, the traverse from Upspitze to Daniel is a formality (3 h 30 from Lähn)
