For me, mountains far and near have always captivated, since my earliest days. They've struck me as places that were not only to be explored and enjoyed, but to be protected as well. So I joined the Sierra Club at age 11. My activism in recent years has taken minimal forms of picking up trash and signing petitions, but I'll always consider myself a disciple of John Muir and appreciate the many good things that the club does, including compiling this list.
