Silently Suffering
A splendid dawn casts reflected pink light on these frozen trees atop Drake Peak in Oregons Warner Range in the dead of winter.

I snowshoe backpacked up to the summit with a friend of mine and camped in the midst of Oregons highest mountaintop forest at 8,500 feet. It was a magical frozen fairy tale of beauty!

Right on, I'm always looking at ways to hike SE peaks in the winter, had been wondering about this one from the cutoff road. If you have any more pictures from that trip you should post them on the Drake Peak page, I'd love to see them.
