skull on Chief's summit
|[ Sizes: Orig | Large | Med | Small | Thumb ]|
An old indian legend tells the story of a Flathead brave who carried a bison skull from Flathead Lake all the way to the summit of Chief Mountain, territory of the fierce Blackfeet Indians. He stayed on top for four days, using the bison skull as a pillow, and had a vision in which a spirit gave him a token that would protect him the rest of his life; the warrior died a long while later of old age. Now, I love the story, but I'm pretty sure this isn't a bison skull. I think someone hauled a cow skull in its place, which is still pretty cool.
