"Got tight last night on absinthe and did knife tricks. Great success shooting the knife into the piano. The woodworms are so bad and eat hell out of all furniture that you can always claim the woodworms did it."

The sign is gone! The handmade sign pointing towards Smith Peak was not there anymore but there was a metal post with some sort of official service tag. I hiked the road from where it starts to climb up the peak (10 miles rt). It was a cool and breezy day but views were nice.

Kind of boring...After being on such a great peak (Harquahala Mountain) earlier, this peak seemed lame and tame. I used Eric Noel's directions from the PB website, and they worked well. Basically a drive-up.

SmithDrove the new road more or less to the top on a rainy day after bailing from an attempt on Weaver.

Smith PeakHiked up the old road after following the power line road in. Steep grunt to the ridge, then follow the smooth dirt road to the radio towers. Great views in all directions.

Me too.Spur of the moment, I decided to go hike this peak. Not too far from where I live. Unexpectedly pretty hike on a desert peak. Surprised to see fresh footprints in the road, figuring this peak gets hiked maybe 4-5 times a year overall. Even more surprised to discover the prints were those of a buddy of mine, who hiked the peak just the day before!
