Snow Lake (~4800m), north Pakistan

Snow Lake lies in the heart of the Karakoram Range in northern Pakistan. It is a vast basin of ice and snow at the head of the Biafo Glacier. White pyramid in the background is the Lukpe Lawo Brakk (6593m).

Re: The Ogre (Baintha Brakk)

Some mountains are unbelievable, and the Ogre is indeed one such. It is a prominent feature of the view at Snow Lake (though it is not visible in this picture).

Unclimbed???

WOW that's inspirational. How many days does it take to get to this spot?

Re: Unclimbed???

Dear Matt,

Apologies! My bad... when I checked, the info about the peak was available in German, and apparently I slightly misinterpretted it when viewed its translation. I have corrected my caption.

The peak was first (and probably just once) summitted in 1956.

It takes 4-5 days of walk-in to the spot, along ~60km long Biafo glacier; and then another 4 days to walk-out of there along Hispar Glacier (almost as long as Biafo).
