Snow Lake from Viviane Lake

Snow Lake from Viviane Lake

It was almost 7pm and we still had over five hours of hiking ahead of us. This view is a little east of Lake Viviane right before the start of the long boulder-strewn descent to Snow Lake which can be seen in the distance. Sunrise was at 6:40am and sunset was at 7:15pm so we had around twelve-and-a-half hours of daylight, which we knew wasn't going to be enough. We had hoped to reach Snow Lake before dark, but we didn't quite make it. That was OK, we had headlamps and we expected to be hiking out in the dark.
