Solomons Pass, northeast slope
The latitude and longitude of are for where the photo was taken, July 9, 2009 (2009.07.09). The view is to the southwest.
The initial descent was on snow at a ~45° slope, exciting, but fortunately not too exciting.
Our companions who came later tried to send a pack down first without first hoping that the first boulder field would catch it. The boulders weren't very helpful, and the pack bounded all the way down, releasing its contents as it went. Our friends claim to have retrieved everything without losses, besides time.
My advice is to not toss your pack over a pass and hope that it will stop on its own.
Does anyone know the name of the peak between Wanda Pass and Solomons Pass?
