Give us some love

No one has signed the summit log, not trip reports and no good route descriptions.

As it is clear that you climbed I-rock last Fall, it would be cool if you would post some information about the climb.

I've thought about doing it for a couple of years and can't tell from books if the South side rock climb routes are easy and exposed or dangerous and majorly sketch.

What was your experience?

Re: Give us some love

Hey Cluck... sorry to hear about Duck #1.

Basically, I-Rock is a house of cards, and the loose stuff can be BIG! The South Chamber route is "relatively" stable, and protects fairly well. We had a good climb, although I don't think I'll go back. I guess it's one of those you have to do once.

As for the "easy and exposed or dangerous and majorly sketch", I'd say it's somewhere in-between.

I'll make an attempt at putting together a route page.

Re: Give us some love

It would be cool if you did try to cobble together a route page. Something a little more current and detailed than the Oregon High pages would be helpful. I know what you mean about climbs you probably wouldn't repeat (particularly right after you got back safely) but feel like you need to do once anyway. That is kind of how I am about I-rock.... just want to check out that rotten looking pointy bastard up close and personal and do it without getting in a jam.
